A consortium led by Hyundai Engineering & Construction (E&C) started signing contracts with future owners of units in the Hillstate Gajang The First apartment complex in Daejeon, the construction firm said Wednesday.

The apartment complex comprised of 15 buildings is under construction near Daejeon's redeveloped Doma-dong and Byeon-dong areas. Its residents will start living there in June 2027.

Hyundai E&C emphasized that the apartment complex's size and location have been drawing attention.

"Hillstate Gajang The First is the leading apartment complex near the redeveloped areas, so it has drawn huge attention from Daejeon residents," a Hyundai E&C official said. "In addition to people who want to reside in Hillstate Gajang The First, those who plan to buy its apartment units for investment purposes have also been inquiring about the apartment complex."

The apartment complex is adjacent to Yongmun Station of Daejeon Metro Line 1 and Seodaejeon train station. Doma Station of the Chungcheong Region Railway will also open in a couple of years near the apartment complex. In addition, the construction of Yongdu Station of the Chungcheong Region Railway and Daejeon Metro Line 1 will begin during the second half of this year.

In March last year, Gyochon-dong of Daejeon's Yuseong District, which is close to Hillstate Gajang The First, was chosen as a candidate site for the establishment of a nano and semiconductor national industrial complex. Within a 1.5-kilometer radius of the apartment complex are many elementary and middle schools.

It is also close to private educational institutes, shopping districts, government buildings and parks.

Hillstate Gajang The First will also be equipped with a community facility, where its residents can exercise, watch movies and read books.
