NCT 127, a standout unit under SM Entertainment's expansive NCT roster, is poised to make a splash in the summer K-pop scene with its upcoming sixth studio album "WALK."

In a press release issued Sunday, SM introduced the album, noting its aim to revive the essence of old-school hip-hop through the eponymous title track, "Walk." The label described the album's lead single as "a fusion of boom-bap style drums, retro guitar riffs and synth sounds reminiscent of early 2000s hip-hop."

According to the K-pop powerhouse, the lyrics of "Walk" showcase NCT 127's "unique style, depicting its members' forward-looking journey with confidence as they assert their determination to carve out their own niche in the music industry."

Moreover, the agency said that fans can anticipate dynamic performances from the eight-member ensemble with this comeback. With choreography highlighting the synergy the members create, the song visually captures a groovy walking style that culminates in energetic footwork performances during its chorus.

The choreography for "Walk" was crafted by the dance crew We Dem Boyz, known for its previous collaboration with NCT U on "Baggy Jeans" (2023).

Beyond the title track, the album promises a diverse range of musical styles across its 11 tracks. Highlights include "Intro: Wall to Wall," an impactful introduction; "Gas," which signifies the group's commitment to the album; "Orange Seoul," paying homage to Seoul's vibrant sunset; and "Meaning of Love," expressing heartfelt gratitude to the team's devoted fan base.

SM Entertainment expressed optimism about the upcoming album, anticipating it will showcase "NCT 127's journey of resilience through challenging endeavors and distinct performances, alongside its confident and charismatic new ventures" through the release.

Originally comprising nine members — Taeil, Johnny, Taeyong, Yuta, Doyoung, Jaehyun, Jungwoo, Mark and Haechan — NCT 127 currently operates as an octet following Taeyong's temporary absence due to his military enlistment in April.
