McKinsey & Company has promoted two associate partners, Um Soo-hyung and Koo Won-mo, to the position of partner, according to McKinsey Korea Office, Friday.

The global strategy and management consulting firm said that Um is a performance improvement and change management expert who has successfully led transformations for both domestic and international companies.

With 15 years of experience in consulting and financial advisory, he has overseen enterprise-wide innovation and profitability enhancement projects across various industries, including heavy industry, semiconductors, automotive, biotechnology and robotics.

Currently, he serves as the co-leader of the transformation and operation practices in McKinsey's Korea office.

He holds a degree in business administration from Korea University and is a certified public accountant in Korea.

Meanwhile, Koo is a strategy and finance expert with a focus on advanced industries such as secondary batteries, semiconductors, electric vehicles and private equity, with particular strength in cross-border mergers and acquisitions.

He earned a degree in electrical engineering from Dartmouth College, a Master of Business Administration from Wharton and a Master in Public Administration from Harvard Kennedy School.

Since joining McKinsey, he has conducted corporate due diligence and postmerger integration for leading domestic companies, including semiconductor firms.

He also co-authored "Korea's Next S-Curve," an economic analysis published by McKinsey's Korea office last year.

"The two new partners were selected for their outstanding expertise, organizational leadership and effective communication with clients, which have all been recognized as exemplary in their respective fields," an official from McKinsey's Korea office said.
