President Yoon Suk Yeol instructed his senior aides Monday to prepare proactive measures to stimulate domestic consumption to address economic challenges at home and abroad, his office said.

Yoon underscored the need for "proactive measures to boost domestic demand and consumption," presidential spokesperson Jeong Hye-jeon said in a written briefing.

Last week, the Bank of Korea lowered its economic growth outlook for Korea next year to 1.9 percent, pointing to slower-than-expected export growth amid growing concerns over potential changes in the trade policies of the United States and other major economies. (Yonhap)
