Hanwha Life donated two traveling family centers — designed to provide a psychological and emotional safety net for women and children — to the Jakarta Provincial Government, the company said Friday.
The initiative follows Hanwha's launch of the digital family center at the Ministry of Women Empowerment and Child Protection in Jakarta last year.
Two centers were set up in Jakarta in 2023 as part of an initiative developed in partnership with the Jakarta government and Save the Children.
The firm introduced the traveling service to reach underserved areas more quickly and effectively.
Established in collaboration with local child centers, the traveling family centers provide mental health care programs and counseling services to improve the welfare of women and children.
The traveling family center is a specially equipped vehicle featuring counseling rooms, nursing spaces and relaxation areas. The vehicle travels to various regions on scheduled days, where experts provide psychological counseling and self-reliance support programs directly to the community.
A handover ceremony took place on Thursday at the provincial government's office and was attended by Jakarta Gov. Heru Budi Hartono, Hanwha Life Vice President Hong Jeong-pyo, Save the Children Indonesia Chief Strategy Officer Rosianto Hamid and Jakarta's Director of Women's and Family Protection Mochamad Miftahulloh Tamary. Government officials, representatives from child protection agencies and about 200 residents also participated.
"We are thrilled to bring essential support closer to residents through the traveling family centers' counseling service vehicle," Hong Jeong-pyo, Hanwha Life's vice president of the communications office, said. "We remain committed to fulfilling our social responsibilities in Indonesia and contributing to the betterment of local communities and residents' quality of life."
