Merz Aesthetics Korea has enjoyed a strong revenue growth since the company's Senior Vice President Yu Su-yeon came to the post in 2014. The firm is the global medical aesthetics firm Merz Aesthetics' local branch in Korea.

Yu has done her best to create a workplace environment where employees can thrive under a belief that sustainable corporate growth is rooted in employees' satisfaction and engagement.

She set three HR strategies of "Belonging, Performing and Rewarding" to build a workplace where every member can grow together.

The company introduced the so-called Merz Employee Council to improve communications among workers while integrating their feedbacks into company policies. It also implemented a flexible work culture that includes a remote work system and allows them to leave work at 4 p.m. every Friday.

These efforts helped foster a more balanced and productive work environment. The company also provides career development opportunities, such as language courses and business training, enabling employees to enhance their skills continuously.

Merz Aesthetics Korea also encourages employees to take an active role in shaping internal initiatives.

Through the My Merz Experience Journey program, employees lead environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG) activities, incentive trips, strategy workshops and compliance projects, cultivating a culture of ownership and innovation.

Under the motto of "Look Better, Feel Better, Live Better," Yu has adopted a different approach emphasizing the company's science-based innovation and premium-quality products, while the Korea's medical aesthetics market was driven by price competition.

"Our focus has always been to introduce clinically proven, safe and effective products while considering their value to health care professionals and consumers," Yu said.

Yu's leadership has established strong partnerships with health care professionals. Thanks to her leadership, Merz Aesthetics Korea has grown into a market leader with impressive sales.

Merz Aesthetics Korea also became the first company in the sector to be listed in the Sustainable Development Goals Business Index last year for its relentless efforts in ESG management.
