Cut Glass Theatre, a brand new English theater company in Seoul will stage one of Oscar Wilde's most popular pieces, "The Importance of Being Earnest, A Trivial Comedy for Serious People," at Moon Light in Itaewon from Nov. 4 to 13.

The newly formed company proudly presents their inaugural production of Wilde's quintessential comedy that is a celebration of Victorian ideals, with great attention paid to the beautiful detail of style, dress, manners, and speech of the period.

Oscar Wilde was an Irish writer and poet who became one of London's most popular playwrights in the early 1890s.

The play is a farcical comedy in which the protagonists maintain fictitious personae in order to escape burdensome social obligations. Working within the social conventions of late Victorian London, the play's major themes are the triviality with which it treats institutions as serious as marriage, and the resulting satire of Victorian ways

"The light and tripping text of this comedy of manners moves like music and will leave the audience giddy and gasping for breath. Come and experience for yourself what has made 'The Importance of Being Earnest' one of the most beloved and enduring comedies of all time," states a press release.

Taking place at Moon Night (previously Club After) in Itaewon, the performances will run from 8 p.m. on Nov. 4 and 5, at 5 p.m. on Nov. 6, at 8 p.m. on Nov. 10 to 12 and at 5 p.m. on Nov. 13.
