Korean and Japanese netizens are raging against a man who used racial expletives to a Korean internet broadcaster visiting Japan.
Video jockey Kim Min-sung, known as BJ Minsung on internet broadcaster Afreeca TV, heard the insults when he tried to enter an eatery as he filmed himself with a selfie stick in Kyoto on April 29.
Kim opened the door and asked "Is this a restaurant or a bar?" in Japanese. But as he was closing the door to leave, a man said to him "Fxxxing Korean" and "Go out." Frustrated and upset, he walked away.
"I am swallowing my anger because I do not want to escalate this into a fight," Kim told viewers of his show. "I wanted to say something back to the guy but my Japanese is not that fluent."
The incident spread online as Kim's fans posted the clip on YouTube.
Not only Koreans but Japanese netizens expressed their anger as the video went viral. "This is very shameful and sad," a Japanese Twitterian said. "A real patriot does not make any racist comments to foreigners."
