Actor Baek Sung-hyun, 29, may be under investigation for allegedly aiding and abetting drunk driving on Wednesday in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province.

Baek is serving as a conscripted marine policeman and was on an overnight pass when an accident happened.

He was in a car driven by a woman who was found to have a blood-alcohol level of 0.08 percent, which exceeds the license revocation limit, according to Goyang Police Station. The car rammed into a median strip at about 1:40 a.m. Baek also was reportedly drunk.

"Baek was on regular leave ― we are sorry to cause anxiety and disappointment," the actor's agency SidusHQ said Wednesday. "Baek is regretting what he did and is now having time for self-reflection." The agency promised to prevent a recurrence of such an incident.

Baek debuted as a child actor in 1994 and has appeared in several shows, including TV series "Iris II: New Generation" in 2013. He enlisted in Jan. 2017.
