Renault Samsung Motors announced on Tuesday its launch of a mobile application offering auto loans to customers.

The Renault Finance app was launched by the local branch of the carmaker's auto-financing unit, RCI.

Renault said the app makes it easier and faster for customers to apply for loans to purchase vehicles.

The app allows customers to check loan eligibility and choose personalized financial products. The entire process is conducted via the application, with a simple verification process.

This enables around-the-clock loan screening, including on holidays and weekends, which speeds up the process of purchasing automobiles for customers.

Customers can save a QR code to their phone which staff at dealerships can scan to access their loan eligibility data, saving staff and customers time.

Renault said the app will be useful for customers who prefer conducting online transactions amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Both Koreans and foreigners can use the app, which can be downloaded from Google Play and the App Store. RCI Korea is offering coffee coupons to customers purchasing vehicles via the Renault Finance app through Feb. 28. They will also be given a chance to win a smartwatch.

"Renault Finance was developed to provide the best customer experience to customers of Renault Samsung Motors," RCI Korea CEO Franck Malochet said.

"RCI Korea will make efforts to satisfy customers who seek reliable personalized contactless financial services at a time countless services incorporating AI technology and fintech are available."

RCI Korea is an auto finance company established in 2003. It is the local branch of RCI Bank and Services which is wholly-owned by France's Renualt group. RCI Bank and Services provides various financial products and services for Renault Samsung Motors and brands included in the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi alliance.
