President Yoon Suk Yeol's approval rating slid to 25 percent last week after rising for three consecutive weeks, a survey showed Monday.

According to the survey by Realmeter and commissioned by a local news outlet, the positive assessment of Yoon's performance fell 0.7 percentage point from the previous week, while the negative assessment rose 0.7 percentage point to 71 percent.

The survey was conducted on 2,509 adults from Monday to Friday last week and had a margin of error of plus or minus 2 percentage points, with a confidence rate of 95 percent.

Yoon's approval rating reached 25.7 percent in the third week of November, marking a six-week high attributed to increased support in conservative strongholds before falling back to 25 percent last week.

In a separate survey conducted by the same pollster on 1,002 individuals aged 18 and over on Thursday and Friday, the approval ratings of the two major rival parties both increased.

Support for the ruling People Power Party rose 2 percentage points from the previous week to 32.3 percent, while the figure for the main opposition Democratic Party inched up 0.3 percentage point to 45.2 percent. (Yonhap)
