K-pop sensation BLACKPINK's Rose on Monday shared how she overcame the hurt caused by negative comments on social media by channeling her emotions into songwriting.

“I wanted to avoid them (negative comments), but like anyone else ... I was affected. However, I learned that those feelings could become a source of inspiration for music. Once I accepted those emotions and started writing, I began to feel better, heal and forgive myself,” she said during an interview with JTBC, a Korean cable news channel. She referenced her song "number one girl," which was released recently.

A week earlier, Rose also spoke to The New York Times about experiencing online bullying, revealing that she had cried while discussing it.

The artist rose to international fame as a member of BLACKPINK and is now enjoying another wave of success through her solo activities. Her latest single, "APT.," recently climbed to the Top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100.

The JTBC interview comes just days before the release of her highly anticipated single album "rosie," set to drop on Friday. The album features 12 tracks, including "APT." and "number one girl."

Rose also explained the background of "APT," discussing the experiences and ideas that led to its creation.

“I was abroad working on my music album. One late night, my friends and I ordered hamburgers. While eating, I taught them a drinking game — it's my favorite game — and they loved it. Watching my non-Korean friends go crazy over it inspired me to write a song the very next day,” she recounted.

When asked about the overwhelming response to the track, she admitted, “It was beyond my expectations.”

Discussing the album, Rose explained its personal significance: “Rosie is my English name. The songs on this album are deeply personal — they're simple, without heavy effects, but their lyrics resonate with me. I hope these songs will touch others the same way they've touched me.”
