The disbanded K-pop girl group GFriend reunited for a new release after three years and will soon embark on an Asia tour to celebrate its 10th debut anniversary.

The group announced the upcoming tour “GFRIEND 10th Anniversary ‘Season of Memories'” on its social media, slated to kick off with a Seoul concert on Jan. 17.

The tour will visit four different cities, holding concerts in Osaka on March 9, Yokohama on March 11, Hong Kong on March 14 and Taipei on March 29.

“In time for the meaningful milestone of its 10th anniversary, GFriend is set to herald a glorious return by traveling across various parts of Asia,” the group's agency Source Music said in the release.

“The six members have promised to deeply move the fans with hit songs that will evoke emotions just with their intro, and a set list that was created with their opinions. Their further evolved vocal and performance skills are also a point you cannot miss.”

Debuting in 2015, the six-piece act — comprised of Sowon, Yerin, Eunha, Yuju, SinB and Umji — carved out a distinct identity in the K-pop industry with their innocent charm and resilient characters. Following the group's disbandment in 2021, Eunha, SinB and Umji formed the trio VIVIZ, while Sowon, Yerin and Yuju pursued individual paths in singing and acting.

The group was originally scheduled to have a two-day Seoul concert on Jan. 18 and 19 at Olympic Hall, Songpa District, Seoul. But it added another date when both days sold out right after tickets became available on Dec. 9, adding another show on Jan. 17.

“This concert is part of a project to commemorate GFriend's 10th debut anniversary and was made possible by the members' wish to gift precious memories to their fans. It is anticipated to be a special time looking back on the team's past journey with a string of hit songs including 'Glass Bead,' 'Me Gustas Tu,' 'Rough' and 'MAGO,'” the agency added.

The group is set to roll out the special album “Season of Memories” on Jan. 13 and prerelease one of its tracks on Jan. 6. It has been releasing promotional content to gear up for the upcoming release, unveiling a teaser video and concept images, and interacting with fans through livestreaming.

GFriend's reunion follows a trend of former girl groups reuniting after disbandment due to the termination of their seven-year exclusive contract with their agencies.

Lovelyz released two new songs, “November” and “Dear,” last month, about four years after its last mini-album, “Unforgettable,” in 2020. It also held the concert tour "Lovelyz in Winterland 4” in Seoul, Macao and Taipei, with a Tokyo event scheduled for Jan. 26, proving their lasting popularity.

YG's girl group 2NE1 also has made a comeback with an Asia tour, “2024-25 2NE1 ASIA TOUR [WELCOME BACK],” traveling to 12 different cities, including Jakarta, Manila, Tokyo and Singapore. It is slated to release a special LP in time for its 15th debut anniversary, which is available for preorder until Dec. 31.
