Genesis' flagship electric SUV — the Electrified GV70 — returned Thursday after a long-awaited face-lift reflecting its design philosophy of athletic elegance and featuring an improved travel range with a higher-density battery, the luxury carmaker said.
The restyled Electrified GV70 was launched two years and 10 months after its debut here in March 2022. The GV70 SUV is one of the most sought-after segments in Genesis' lineup.
The vehicle focuses on strengthening its design identity in a more sophisticated manner with a new front grille and bumper. The carmaker also sought to add a stronger design identity on the side of the vehicle by introducing a 20-inch wheel.
The Electrified GV70 also comes with an improved range of 423 kilometers on a single battery charge. This is an increase of 23 kilometers from its predecessor. This enhancement is attributed to the integration of a fourth-generation battery with a capacity of 84 kilowatt-hours, according to Genesis.
Despite its increased capacity, the battery can be charged from 10 percent to 80 percent in just 19 minutes. Additionally, drivers can adjust the battery temperature as needed, ensuring optimal performance under various conditions.
The vehicle improved its driving comfort with a set of new technologies. First, the carmaker added highway body motion control technology that can help the vehicle sense abrupt accelerations or decelerations in a vehicle ahead on the road. When the Electrified GV70 detects such a change, it minimizes movement of the car's body, ensuring a safer and more comfortable driving experience.
“The upgraded Electrified GV70 SUV will be the most attractive model for customers seeking quality interior and exterior design,” an official from Genesis said. “They can also expect more stable and powerful driving experiences with the luxury electric SUV.”
The price for the vehicle starts from 75.3 million won ($51,600) here.
