R&B singer Ciara and heavy metal bands Scorpions and Megadeth will hit Seoul's music scene this month.
Ciara, who is known for her hip-hop dance songs ''Goodies'' and ''1, 2 Step,'' will perform at the Fencing Stadium, Olympic Park on Oct. 19. Tickets to the concert cost 77,000 won, 55,000 won and 33,000 won.
The 21-year old singer made a splash in 2004, when her single ''Goodies'' topped the Billboard charts in the United States. Her debut album sold over 3 million around the world.
Ciara also received two Grammy Award nominations for Best New Artist and Best Rap Song Collaboration for ''1, 2 Step.'' Her collaboration with Missy Elliot, ''Lose Control'' also received two Grammy Award nominations.
She released a second album ''Ciara: The Evolution'' last December, selling over 2 million copies around the world. She worked with top music producers such as Pharrell, Rodney Jerkins and Will.i.am. on the album, which spawned hit songs ''Promise,'' ''Get Up,'' and ''Like a Boy.''
Korean fans will recognize Ciara's songs, which were used in TV commercials for Fubu, Samsung Kenox mp3 player and Melon.
Scorpions, a hard rock band from Germany, will perform at the Jamsil Indoor Stadium in Seoul on Oct. 26 and Gyeongsang National University in Busan on Oct. 28. This is part of the band's ''Humanity World Tour,'' which started last May.
VIP tickets to the concert cost 135,000 won, while other tickets cost 99,000 won, 85,000 won, 55,000 won and 35,000 won. This is the second time Scorpions will perform in Seoul, after their successful concert in 2001.
Since the band was formed in 1965, Scorpions have sold over 100 million records around the world. The band has released 21 albums, including ''Unbreakable'' in 2004 and ''Humanity _ Hour 1,'' which was released this year.
Their best-known rock songs include ''Wind of Change,'' ''No One Like You,'' ''Still Loving You,'' ''Always Somewhere,'' and ''Holiday.''
Scorpions have undergone changes in its line-up, but its current members include Klaus Meine on vocals; Matthias Jabs on guitar; Rudolf Schenker on guitar; Paweⓒⓒ Maciwoda on bass and James Kottak on drums.
Popular thrash metal band Megadeth will stage a concert at the Olympic Hall, Olympic Park on Oct. 28. Tickets for the Megadeath concert are 88,000 won and 66,000 won.
Megadeth was formed in 1983, after Dave Mustaine left another band Metallica. Under Mustaine's leadership, Megadeth pioneered the thrash metal movement in the United States in the 1980's. The band sold more than 20 million albums around the world since 1985, including the Grammy-nominated ''Countdown to Extinction.'' This year, Megadeth released ''United Abominations.''
