LIG Nex1 will participate in the 2023 International Defence Industry Exhibition (MSPO) in Poland, scheduled to take place Tuesday (local time), where it will showcase various guided weapons.
The MSPO, Poland's annual national defense fair established in 1993, is the third-largest defense trade show in Europe after Eurosatory in Paris and Defence and Security Equipment International in London.
Poland has selected Korea as the lead nation for this year's exhibition, a role that presents the opportunity to deliver an opening ceremony speech and hold senior-level meetings and joint seminars. Korea was also selected to be the lead nation in 2017.
According to the Yongin, Gyeonggi Province-based company, it will showcase its airborne guided weapons such as Korean GPS Guided Bomb (KGGB) and Korean Air-Launched Cruise Missile (KALCM), along with land-based weapon systems including Raybolt and Chiron, as well as a drone system, displaying its unique cutting-edge technologies.
KGGB is a smart bomb system operable on various airborne platforms, including FA-50 light attack aircraft, and is capable of conducting precision strikes from long distances with day-and-night and all-weather capability.
KALCM, currently under development, will be the first airborne guided munition developed locally with the Agency for Defense Development in the lead. The bomb has the capability to conduct precision strikes on critical targets hundreds of kilometers away. It will be the main armament for the KF-21 for ground strike missions.
"LIG Nex1 has since MSPO 2017 been exploring various ways to cooperate with government organizations and Polish defense companies in order to establish a foothold in the European defense market," its CEO Kim, Ji-chan said.
"Through this year's MSPO, as the leading K-defense company, LIG Nex1 will showcase its cutting-edge technology and its competitiveness, and will secure its position in the global defense market with its unique and exceptional brand value."
