The outcome of the presidential election in Taiwan is expected to pose significant diplomatic challenges for Korea, particularly in 1) navigating relations with China and neighboring countries.

China's foreign ministry promptly issued a statement following Lai's election win 7) asserting Beijing's "One China" policy.

중국 외교부는 라이의 선거 승리 후 즉각 '하나의 중국' 정책을 7) 확고히 하는 성명을 발표했다.

"Whatever changes take place in Taiwan, the basic fact that there is only one China in the world and Taiwan is part of China will not change," it said.

성명은 "대만에서 어떤 변화가 일어나도 지구 상 중국은 하나 뿐이며 대만은 중국의 일부라는 기본 사실은 변하지 않는다"고 전했다.
