Another video clip showing a group of soldiers believed to be North Koreans dispatched to Russia has been released on social media, amid claims that the North is sending its troops to join Russian forces in the war in Ukraine.

Astra, an outlet claiming to be independent Russian media, posted a video showing a number of soldiers appearing to belong to the North Korean forces standing outside an unknown building.

Astra described them as North Korean soldiers arriving at a Russian ground forces base, located in Sergievsky in Russia's Far Eastern city of Vladivostok.

In the video, the individuals were seen gathered in groups of three or four, talking and smoking together. The video also captured their voices with a clear North Korean accent, saying, "It's tough" and "It's late."

The video is the latest in a string of similar videos being circulated over social media sites since South Korea and Ukraine accused the North of sending troops to Russia to fight the war against Kyiv.

Last week, a Ukrainian government-affiliated organization revealed video footage of men appearing to be North Korean soldiers preparing for deployment at a Russian military training center.

CNN has reported that Russia had prepared a Korean-language questionnaire for the distribution of military equipment to North Korean soldiers deployed in its territory, citing the material provided by the same Ukrainian organization.

South Korea's spy agency said last week it had confirmed that North Korea decided to send around 10,000 troops to Russia, with 1,500 special forces already dispatched earlier this month.

A Ukrainian intelligence official told a U.S. media outlet Tuesday that his country expects the North Korean forces to be deployed in Russia's Kursk border region where the Ukrainian forces launched an incursion in August.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said in an address on the same day that North Korea is preparing two units consisting of up to 12,000 troops to participate in the war alongside Russia. (Yonhap)
