Model-turned-actor Gang Dong-won has ventured into the fashion industry, launching his own brand, NONYMOUSAA, his agency AA Group said Tuesday.
The 43-year-old actor, who is the first Korean model to walk Paris Fashion Week's prêt-à-porter (ready-to-wear clothes) runway, has made a name for himself with his daring fashion choices including high heels and bold prints.
The new online store features Gang modeling a range of Fall/Winter apparel, including denim, casual streetwear and a variety of caps. Many items bear the logo of his agency, AA Group — the company he established after leaving YG Entertainment last year. AA is a symbol that represents Gang, created by inverting the "w" from his English name.
The brand is a reflection of the actor's personal fashion philosophy and he has been known to be actively involved in the design process as the creative director.
The collection has garnered particular attention for its simple, everyday wearable hats in neutral colors, priced between 48,000 won ($34) and 78,000 won. In addition to caps, the brand offers a range of outerwear and tops.
Netizens have reacted with comments such as "The return of model Gang Dong-won" and "He's here to overturn the online shopping landscape."
Gang's foray into the fashion industry highlights his desire to extend his influence beyond the entertainment world. He joins a growing list of celebrities who have launched their own fashion labels, including BIGBANG's G-Dragon, who founded Peaceminusone and has successfully established his own fashion empire.
Meanwhile, Gang is returning to the small screen after 21 years, with Disney+'s "Tempest," an espionage action thriller set to release next year.
