Two suspected North Korean soldiers are seen before a drone attack in this captured image from video footage posted on the 73rd Naval Center Special Operations Forces of Ukraine's X account on Dec. 19.

The Ukrainian military released more video footage of its forces apparently killing North Korean soldiers with a drone on the frontlines in the Kursk border region, a Ukrainian media outlet has reported, amid reports of North Korean forces suffering heavy casualties.

The Special Operations Forces (SOF) of the Armed Forces of Ukraine uploaded the black and white footage to its Facebook page, according to a report by local media outlet RBC on Thursday (local time).

"As a result, SOF operators destroyed 12 North Korean soldiers and wounded another 20," the SOF was quoted as saying.

The footage shows soldiers believed to be North Koreans hiding among the trees on a snowy terrain before being knocked to the ground by the drone attacks.

In another scene, a sudden flash from an attack erupts where a soldier is standing, after which the soldier collapses to the ground.

The video also shows scenes of purported North Korean soldiers falling to the ground after what appears to be a bomb explosion and Ukrainian forces firing a machine gun toward the snowy battlefield.

The authenticity of the video has not been verified yet.

On Tuesday, Kyiv's military also released a video of a drone attack on North Korean troops.

South Korea's spy agency said Thursday at least 100 North Korean troops dispatched to Russia for combat in Ukraine were killed, and some 1,000 injured.

The agency added that Russia's military has mainly mobilized North Korean soldiers as front-line storm troopers due to their lack of experience with drones. (Yonhap)
