About half of all Koreans use social media, a report showed, Sunday.
한국인들 중 약 절반이 소셜미디어를 사용한다는 조사결과가 일요일 나왔다.
The report, conducted by the Korea Information Society Development Institute surveying 9,426 people last year, said 48.2 percent were using at least one social networking service, up 2.4 percentage points from a year before.
정보통신정책연구원이 지난해 9,426명을 대상으로 실시한 조사에서 48.2%가 1개 이상의 소셜네트워크서비스(SNS)를 이용하고 있다고 답했고 이는 1년 전보다 2.4% 증가한 수치다.
Younger people were more active in using social media ― 82.3 percent of people in their 20s were using it, while the ratio went down to 73.3 percent among those in their 30s, 55.9 percent in their 40s and 53.8 percent in their teens.
젊은 층은 소셜미디어 이용에 더 적극적이었다. 20대의 82.3%가 소셜네트워크서비스(SNS)를 이용하고 있었고 이 비율은 30대의 73.3%, 40대의 55.9%, 10대의 53.8%로 낮아졌다.
The time spent using social media per day was 56.4 minutes on average, a decrease from 2017's 70.2 minutes. People in their 20s spent the largest time on social media, one hour and seven minutes daily on average.
하루 소셜미디어 이용시간은 평균 56.4분으로 2017년의 70.2분보다 오히려 줄었다. 20대는 하루 평균 1시간 7분씩을 소셜미디어에 사용하며 가장 많은 시간을 보냈다.
When asked which media they use the most, 34 percent of the respondents picked Facebook; 27 percent, Kakao Story; 14 percent, Twitter; 11.3 percent, Naver Band; and 10.8 percent, Instagram. The ranking was the same as last year, but the use of Instagram hiked from 6.4 percent in 2017 to 10.8 percent last year.
어떤 소셜미디어를 가장 많이 사용하는지를 물어보는 질문에 응답자의 34%가 페이스북을 꼽았고, 카카오스토리(27%), 트위터(14%) 네이버밴드(11.3%) 인스타그램(10.8%)이 뒤를 이었다. 지난해와 순위는 같았지만, 인스타그램 사용률은 2017년 6.4%에서 지난해 10.8%로 높아졌다.
The surveyed people used social media mostly via smartphones: they spent 52 minutes using social media on smartphones, 2.7 minutes with desktops and 1.2 minutes on laptops.
조사 대상자들은 주로 스마트폰을 통해 소셜 미디어를 사용했다. 이들은 스마트폰에서 52분, 데스크톱에서 2.7분, 노트북에서 1.2분을 사용한 것으로 나타났다.
