Kakao, the operator of Korea's dominant mobile messenger app KakaoTalk, said Friday its service has experienced a brief disruption.
Some users experienced problems sending or receiving messages on KakaoTalk for about six minutes from 9:24 a.m., the company said, adding that it immediately responded to the issue and normalized the service at 9:30 a.m.
The company did not elaborate on the exact cause of the service failure.
KakaoTalk has suffered a number of service outages this year, including a 90-minute disruption in July.
KakaoTalk has some 45 million monthly active users in Korea. (Yonhap)
