The host of Greek TV show "Eutixeite" has apologized after making fun of famous K-pop singers, including BTS, EXO, Wanna One members.
"I want to apologize to everyone who felt insulted from our humorous comments on yesterday's TV show and to the fans of Wanna One's Kang Daniel, Exo's Sehun, and BTS' Taehyung and Jungkook," Katerina Kainourgiou wrote on Instagram, Sunday (local time.)
This statement came after Kainourgiou and her guests made fun of the stars on Friday as they talked about the people who had made its "100 Most Handsome Faces" of 2018.
Kainourgiou and her guests made comments such as "Is he a man?", "I can't believe there are women who voted for that thing to be No. 5."
Their remarks enraged many of the Korean stars' fans, who lashed out at Kainourgiou on social media.
"Kainourgiou is just an ignorant racist," a netizen said.
Another person said, "Judging people by outward appearance is itself unacceptable ― but she made it worse by making a racist remark at the same time."
Kainourgiou later asked the fans to stop criticizing her, saying she had received "terrible and threatening comments and messages."
