Main opposition leader Lee Jae-myung plans to hold a meeting with Samsung Electronics Chairman Lee Jae-yong this week, party officials said Wednesday.
The planned meeting will take place Thursday at a public event on ways to help young people get jobs, Hwang Jung-a, a spokesperson for the main opposition Democratic Party of Korea (DPK), told reporters.
DPK leader Lee and the Samsung chairman will also hold close-door discussions on the sidelines of the youth program.
Their meeting is expected to cover key issues, such as an opposition-led revision to the Commercial Act that passed the parliament earlier this month, as well as the ongoing debate over the special chips act and the exemption of semiconductor workers from the 52-hour workweek regulation. (Yonhap)
