A boy, 9, has ended his journey on earth after giving seven patients new lives.
The Korea Organ Donation Agency (KODA) said Wednesday the transplant of Go Hong-joon's organs to seven patients was successfully conducted on Monday.
Go was taken to Jeju National University Hospital on April 1 after collapsing at home with a headache. He was declared brain dead four days later.
His parents decided to donate his organs to patients with chronically malfunctioning organs, in light of Go's compassionate mind and activities in life.
"Go's donation has presented seven people with new lives and had a far-reaching impact on many other people," KODA president Cho Won-hyun said. "I would like to convey my deepest appreciation to Go and his family."
Go's funeral was held Wednesday.
