It took a while, but the world has finally found a use for Justin Bieber _ his music apparently repels dangerous bears.
Igor Vorozhbitsyn, a fisherman in northern Russia, said he narrowly avoided a brown bear attack when his mobile phone rang, playing Bieber's hit song, "Baby." The beast fled into the forest, a European news agency reports.
Vorozhbitsyn said he was heading to a fishing spot when the bear pounced on him. "I had parked my car and was walking toward the spot I'd marked out when there was a tremendous impact on my back and the bear was on top of me," he said.
"I couldn't believe my luck when the phone went off and he fled … I know that sort of ringtone isn't to everyone's taste, but my granddaughter loaded it for a joke."
