South Korean female archers won the team recurve archery final, garnering their country a historic fifth straight Asiad gold in the event.

The team of Jung Dasomi, Chang Hye-jin and Lee Tuk-young secured a comfortable 6-0 win over their Chinese opponents Cheng Ming, Xu Jing and Zhu Jueman.

"We've prepared for this moment for the past 10 months, and I'm really happy that we have made history by winning the fifth straight gold at the Asiad," Lee said after the match at the Gyeyang Asiad Archery Field in Incheon.

For Korea, it was the third gold in the sport at the ongoing Asiad, following two gold medals in women's individual and team compound archery the previous day.

In the all-Korean women's individual final, Jung beat her teammate, Chang, 7-1. It was South Korea's third straight Asiad title in the category.

Jung pushed Chang with perfect 10s from the outset, while Chang struggled to keep up.

They tied in the second set, but Jung continued to overwhelm Chang with more 10s in the third and fourth sets to become the winner.

In the men's individual final, Olympic champion Oh Jin-hyek managed to grab a 6-4 victory over China's Yong Zhiwei to extend South Korea's winning streak to three.

Oh struggled to find his form in the first two sets, shooting all 9s against Yong's five 10s and a 9. But he quickly gained control in the third set, shooting perfect 10s against Yong's 8, 9 and 10. Yong continued to falter in the following two sets, eventually handing Oh the top podium spot.

Regrettable defeat in badminton

South Korea's badminton duo of Lee Yong-dae and Yoo Yeon-seong settled for the silver medal in the men's doubles event at the Gyeyang Gymnasium.

The South Korean duo faced the Indonesian team of Mohammad Ahsan and Hendra Setiawan in a neck-and-neck match.

It was not a pleasant start for the Koreans, as their mistakes in the first set led them to lose 16-21.

Lee and Yoo won the second set 21-16, only to lose the final set, failing to grab the gold and live up to the hopes of the thousands of South Korean fans who attended.

More golds

South Korean athletes won more golds, helping their country maintain the second spot in the medal standings.

They include cyclist Jang Kyung-gu, who won the gold medal in the men's road race.
After racing 13 laps of the 14-kilometer road track at the Songdo Road Cycling Course for a total of 182 kilometers, Jang came in first among 48 racers from 26 countries, recording a time of four hours, seven minutes and 52 seconds. The silver and bronze went to Iran's Arvin Moazami and Hong Kong's Leung Chun Wing, respectively.

Korea also captured the gold in the women's trios bowling event, bringing home the second gold from the sport.

The trio of Lee Na-young, Jung Da-wun and Son Yun-hee combined for 3,896 points to defeat Singapore's Cherie Tan, New Hui Fen and Jazreel Tan by 143 points at the Anyang Hogye Gymnasium in Gyeonggi Province.

Park Gyeol also brought her country the gold in the women's individual golf event.
The 18-year-old shot a four-round total of 19-under 269 at the Dream Park Country Club in Incheon, beating Thailand's Budsabakon Sukapan by two strokes.
