New employees who have graduated from a four-year university course are being paid an average of 2,909,000 won a month, including bonuses, this year, figures show _ up 4.5 percent from 2,784,000 won last year.
The data is from a Korea Employers Federation survey of 414 companies.
Companies with 100-299 employees pay 2,561,000 won, companies with 300- 499 employees pay 2,795,000 won, companies with 500-999 employees pay 2,941,000 won and companies with 1,000 or more employees pay 3,186,000 won.
Companies in the construction industry pay 2,706,000 won, wholesale and retail 2,755,000 won, manufacturing 2,802,000 won, transport, warehousing and communication services 2,940,000 won and finance and insurance 3,284,000 won.
Employees from vocation colleges are on average paid 2,584,000 won, high school graduates in office jobs 2,130,000 won and high school graduates in manufacturing 2,308,000 won.
