The North Korea media denounced President Park Geun-hye, Thursday, over the scandal revolving around her confidant Choi Soon-sil.

North Korea's main propaganda website, Uriminzokkiri, published three articles on the scandal about how Choi, who has no official government job, was involved in editing key presidential speeches and had access to the government's internal documents.

Calling it the "worst-ever political scandal," the website claimed that Park should step down for her "incompetence."

"Choi's acts are clear evidence of Park Geun-hye being an incompetent old person," one article stated. "Park had better acknowledge her inability and involvement in the crime and leave Cheong Wa Dae."

"No one has ever heard of such an ugly political scandal involving the President memorizing speeches inspected by a random swindler anywhere else in the world," another article said. "Park should be brought into judgment and dragged down from her leadership post."

The Chosun Shinbo, a paper published by the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan, touched upon the scandal, Wednesday, noting it as "looming collapse of the Park Geun-hye government."

Park has been under fire for allowing her confidant access to classified documents.
Local broadcaster JTBC reported Monday that it had been given Choi's personal computer, which she had asked a concierge in her office building to dispose of, and found that 44 copies of Park's speeches stored on it time-stamped with dates before their actual delivery.

On the following day, Park offered a public apology, acknowledging her close ties to Choi and the fact that she had received her help.

Rival parties are seeking to appoint an independent counsel for a full-scale investigation, calling for a reshuffling of the Cabinet and the President's secretariat.
Choi also allegedly leveraged her relationship with Park to solicit massive donations from conglomerates to form two "non-profit" foundations.
