475th Turtle Marathon set for Saturday

The 475th Turtle Marathon, co-hosted by the Hankook Ilbo, the sister newspaper of The Korea Times, and the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs will be held this Saturday. The event will be sponsored by KB Financial Group.

The walkathon honoring war veterans as June 6 marked Memorial Day will be led by Patriots and Veterans Affairs Minister Pi Woo-jin.

The six-kilometer walk will begin at 8:30 a.m. at Baekbeom Square near Mount Nam in Seoul.
Diverse events and activities will take place after the walkathon, including calligraphy, curling and a stamp tour visiting memorial sites on Mount Nam.

Free refreshments and coffee will be provided for participants after the walkathon.

Those who want to join the event must sign up online. Visit hkturtle.com to log on and click the pre-registration button at the top of the website.

Certifications of three-hour volunteering will be issued for elementary, middle and high school students who volunteer for the walkathon.
