The Melon Music Awards (MMA) ― which celebrate the hottest names of the year in the K-pop scene ― announced the addition of special appearances in their star-packed line-up for the ceremony.

Actors Lee Dong-wook, Lee Sang-yoon, Daniel Choi, Son Tae-young, Jung So-min and comedians Lee Young-ja and Park Sung-kwang will join the K-pop stars for this year's MMA as presenters to celebrate the K-pop stars and their respective performances.

Marking the 10-year anniversary, this year's theme for the MMAs will be "My Story" with top artists giving special performances that fit with the particular theme.

"The full line-up has been confirmed, but we want the audience to watch along with us on Saturday night to check out who else appears on the show," a 2018 MMA official said

Previously announced performers include a handful of A-list K-pop groups ― BTS, MAMAMOO, BTOB, Bolbbalgan4, Wanna One, BLACKPINK, iKON and Apink.

BTS, who delivered a message of self love to young people during a speech at the United Nations, will be using heartfelt storytelling to put on a special performance. BTS have won major awards at the MMAs in various categories such as New Artist, TOP 10, Album of the Year, Song of the Year, Hot Trend, Music Video and Global Artist.

MAMAMOO, who put out a new album titled "BLUE;S" with new single "Wind flower" on Thursday, will be exciting fans with a performance that features sexiness and glamour.

BTOB, who are busy promoting their latest hit "Beautiful Pain" as a six-member group ― group leader Seo Eun-kwang absent due to mandatory military service ― will prepare a special performance so the fans won't feel the absence of Seo.

The duo Bolbbalgan4 will be showing a new side to themselves with their performance about taking a trip with somebody.

At the 2017 MMA, Wanna One received the New Artist Award and featured a "Youth: Act 1" performance. This year, they'll stage a "Youth: Act 2" performance with an aim to tell Wannables, their fan club, that spring ― a seasonal metaphor in which they meet again ― will always come, as their latest single "Spring Breeze" suggests. This story comes in line with their upcoming disbandment planned for Dec. 31.

BLACKPINK will incorporate artistic elements to their stage and it's said to be about a conflict that arises when faced with a strong temptation. Another much-anticipated element of their performance is the stage design created solely for BLACKPINK.

After releasing a string of hits including "Love Scenario," "Killing Me," and "Goodbye Road" this year, iKON will showcase a beautiful and grandiose collaboration with an orchestra. Their performance will be about saying goodbye to former lovers.

Apink will entertain their fans with a Moulin Rouge-themed performance. They will be taking the stage as divas that appear at the Moulin Rouge.

The 2018 MMA will take place live at Gocheok Sky Dome on Dec. 1 at 7 P.M. KST, and will be aired on JTBC 2, JTBC 4, Melon, 1theK, kakaoTV, and Daum.
