The 481st Turtle Marathon is slated for Saturday, 8:30 a.m. at Baekbeom Square, Mount Nam, Seoul. The walkathon is hosted by the Hankook Ilbo, the sister newspaper of The Korea Times, in collaboration with Dongwha Group.

It will be this year's first walkathon as spring is just around the corner.

The 6-km course is a return walk from the Baekbeom Square following the northern circuit to the National Theater of Korea to the starting point.

Several activities are prepared for the participants at the square. Photo zones will be set up and events related to tattoo stickers and plants in eco-pots made out of recycled materials will be available.

Children cheerleading team, Rainbow, will cheer the people along with the raffle for prizes totaling 2 million won in value: Dongwha flooring installation, an LED TV, sports shoes, seaweed and various other prizes.

Those who want to join can sign up for the walkathon on its website,
www.hkturtle.com. Log in and register by clicking the upper button on the website. After the registration, you can receive SMS updates on the event.

On the sideline of the event, a campaign to know more about the March 1 Independence Movement will be held.
