Former U.S. President George W. Bush will attend a memorial service at Bongha Village in Gimhae, South Gyeongsang Province, today, marking the 10th anniversary of the death of former President Roh Moo-hyun.

Bush will present a portrait he painted of the late president to Roh's wife Kwon Yang-sook, which will be exhibited at the Roh Moo-hyun Foundation.
부시 전 대통령은 고 노무현 전 대통령을 그린 초상화를 그의 부인 권양숙 여사에게 전달할 예정이며 이 그림은 노무현재단에 전시된다.
In return, she will give Bush a "special present" featuring the carved features of Bush and Roh.
권양숙 여사는 답례로 노 전 대통령과 부시 전 대통령이 두 손을 맞잡은 모습을 새긴 판화 작품을 부시 전 대통령에게 선물할 예정이다.
"As presidents, Roh and Bush had different views on issues such as North Korea, but they had an intimate personal relationship," ruling Democratic Party of Korea (DPK) Chairman Lee Hae-chan said.
이해찬 더불어민주당 대표는 "노 전 대통령과 부시 전 대통령은 북한 문제 등에 다른 견해를 보였지만 친밀한 사적인 관계를 유지했다"고 말했다.
Since his retirement in early 2009, Bush has painted portraits of world leaders he met during his presidency and exhibited them.
부시 전 대통령은 2009년 초 퇴임 이후 그의 재임 시절 만난 세계 정상들의 초상화를 그려왔다.
Bush and the late President Roh were sometimes described as "bedfellows" while they were presidents ― Bush was the U.S. leader from 2001 to 2009 and Roh's counterpart from 2002 to 2007.
부시 전 대통령(2001~2009)은 노무현 전 대통령(2002~2007)과 임기를 함께하며 '뜻밖의 한 쌍'으로 불리기도 했다.
During this period, Seoul dispatched troops to Iraq and signed a bilateral free trade agreement.
이들의 재임 동안, 한국은 이라크에 파병했고 한미 양국은 자유무역협정을 맺었다.
However, Washington and Seoul relations were strained in handling the North as Bush supported a "hardline stance" toward Pyongyang, while Roh pushed for an engagement policy.
하지만 북한 문제에 대해 부시 정부가 강경한 입장을 보인 반면, 노무현 정부는 포용정책을 펼쳐 한미 관계가 껄끄러워지기도 했다.
Ten years ago, Roh committed suicide by leaping to his death from a cliff behind his house. He was 62.
10년 전 노무현 대통령은 62세의 나이로 사저 뒤 절벽에서 뛰어내려 생을 마감했다.
