Fugitive Malaysian businessman Low Taek Jho, also known as Jho Low, denied Tuesday his involvement in the sex-for-favor scandal that allegedly involves YG Entertainment founder Yang Hyun-suk.
"He was never involved in, nor aware of, any conduct of the kind alleged in the MBC 'Straight' report," Low's spokesperson said.
According to media outlet Malaysiakini Tuesday, Low, 38, met Yang through Korean singer Psy, who had been represented by YG from 2010 to 2018.
Investigative journalism program "Straight" raised the sex-for-favor allegation against Yang during its latest episode aired Monday, claiming he provided girls for two foreign investors from Southeast Asia in July 2014 at Club NB in Mapo-gu, western Seoul. It insisted Low was one of the two investors.
Low is an acquaintance of Malaysia's former Prime Minister Najib Razak and has been listed on the Interpol red alert system on suspicion of pocketing billions from the 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB), a government-run strategic development company, and creating a slush fund.
He is the ex-boyfriend of Australian model Miranda Kerr.
