LG Hausys is working on improving its presence in the artificial marble market in North America as the building material arm of LG Group will join the Kitchen and Bath Industry Show (KBIS), which will be held in Las Vegas from Tuesday to Thursday.

At the largest North American event for the kitchen and bath industry, LG Hausys is displaying 20 new products such as imitation marble and engineered stone products which are used for home decoration.

"We are exhibiting our premium lineups of engineered stone product Viatera and acrylic artificial marble product HI-MACS. We are also showcasing how our products can be applied to various spaces such as kitchens, dining rooms or laundry rooms and we hope the showroom is received well by visitors," a company official said.

Seeing the KBIS fair as an opportunity, the company is also trying to strengthen its sales channels in the region.

"During the exhibition period, we will invite about 200 customer companies in the construction and kitchen appliance sectors in North America to introduce our new products and secure new customers," the company said.

In North America, LG Hausys has around 20 percent of market share in the acrylic artificial marble market, following leader DuPont. The company is focusing on improving its share in the engineered stone market, in which it currently ranks fourth with an about 10 a percent ownership share.

The company is expected to have 50 percent more production capacity for engineered stone, manufactured in the U.S. once it completes the expansion of its No. 3 engineered stone production line in Georgia within the first quarter.

"LG Hausys is expected to boost its market share in the engineered stone market in North America once we complete the expansion of the No. 3 production line for engineered stone, in the first quarter of 2020," Kim Kwang-jin, leader of LG Hausys America, said.

"This year, we will keep focusing on building strong brand advocacy in North America by taking part in various exhibitions including the KBIS and actively hosting sales and marketing events for our products manufactured in the region," he added.
