Lotte Hotel Seoul launches 'online express check-in' service

Lotte Hotel Seoul has launched an "online express check-in" service for guests who book a room through the Lotte Hotel official homepage or application.

The new service simplifies check-in procedures and enables guests to register their check-in information through the website or app even in the morning, so they can simply pick up their key at the front desk without waiting upon their arrival, unlike other guests who must check in onsite after 3 p.m.

"We launched the fast check-in service as an increasing number of millennials who are more familiar with online booking are using the hotel," a Lotte Hotel official said. "Our new service is also in line with the recent trend of contactless services amid the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic. We plan to expand the service to our chains across the country."

In celebration of the launch of the service, Lotte Hotel Seoul is presenting its "rewards point promotion," which offers 1,000 points worth $10 to guests who book a room through the Lotte Hotel homepage and use the online check-in service.

Haevichi Hotels & Resorts present oil-free Chinese dishes

Jungsim, the authentic Chinese restaurant run by Haevichi Hotels & Resorts in central Seoul, is presenting its "oil-free promotion," showcasing classic Guangdong dishes cooked without oil as part of a healthy Chinese cuisine concept.

On the menu, available until the end of March, are five-fragrance chicken and steamed toothfish in soy sauce.

Jungsim is inspired by a slow concept of Chinese cuisine, crafted carefully from fresh seasonal ingredients and cooked slowly.

With this promotion, the restaurant is striving to promote slowly crafted, healthy Chinese dining, escaping the stereotype of "greasy Chinese food."

Five-fragrance chicken, known in Chinese as shaoji, is made with boiled chicken slowly steamed with star anise, scallions and other spices, then cooled and served with cucumber, cilantro and scallion.

Steamed toothfish in soy sauce is a classic Guangdong dish that uses the "qingzheng" technique of intense steaming at high heat to minimize loss of nutrients and preserve the natural flavor of the fish. It is served in Jungsim's special homemade soy sauce and garnished with scallions, cilantro and Chinese-style glass noodles.

Jungsim's oil-free promotion is set to continue with more new and creative dishes, crafted through ongoing research into healthy Chinese cuisine.

Upscale Chinese cookery uses oil-free recipes more frequently, so that the promotion will naturally introduce Korean diners to a variety of premium dishes cooked without oil.

InterContinental's 2021 strawberry promotion returns

The Lobby Lounge located on the ground floor of Grand InterContinental Seoul Parnas is presenting the "Strawberry Gourmet Boutique" promotion where guests can relax on plush, comfortable sofa seats and enjoy three types of quality brunch meals, various strawberry desserts and fresh strawberries served on a three-tier afternoon tea tray.

Starting with strawberry mojito and fresh strawberries as welcome items, The Lobby Lounge presents a three-course brunch prepared by the head chef.

Following croque monsieur, fruit salad and ravioli-containing onion cream soup, lobster and tenderloin steak are served as a main dish that completes a full meal. After that, fresh in-season strawberries and seven types of strawberry desserts, including strawberry chocolate espresso cake, strawberry mascarpone cream verrine and strawberry lime pudding, are served on a three-tier tray.

Coffee or tea is also offered. Freshly baked cranberry bread is prepared on visitors' way out as a gift.

The promotion is running on weekends from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. until April 11.

The "Strawberry Avenue" promotion of InterContinental Seoul COEX offers table service for chef-prepared foods cooked on the spot at the Live Station.

This special menu combines five different cuisines, presenting 10 types of strawberry desserts.

As this year's event is provided as a table service instead of a buffet, guests can relax and enjoy a variety of strawberry dishes without having to worry about social distancing.

The promotion is available in two sessions every Saturday and Sunday. The first session is offered from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., and the second one runs from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
