The Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra (SPO) and SM Entertainment's classical label, SM Classics, have once again joined hands for the release of the orchestral version of Red Velvet's chart-topping hit "Psycho," Friday.

The partnership between the SPO and the entertainment powerhouse was forged in June 2020, pioneering a collaboration between classical music and K-pop.

Since then, they have delighted fans with orchestral renditions of iconic K-pop songs such as Red Velvet's "Red Flavor" and SHINee Jonghyun's "End of a Day" in 2020, Red Velvet's "Feel My Rhythm" and aespa's debut song "Black Mamba" in 2022 and most recently, Girls' Generation's "Into The New World" and EXO's "Growl" in 2023.

The orchestral rendition of "Psycho" is the latest addition to this collaboration, promising a fresh interpretation of K-pop's monumental hits through the lens of classical music. With arrangements that infuse orchestral instruments to accentuate the song's melodies, listeners will enjoy a symphonic experience that amplifies the emotional depth of the original track.

Especially, the incorporation of Rachmaninoff's Symphony No. 2 lends a distinct charm to the arrangement, resulting in a blend of classical motifs and contemporary beats.

The SPO and SM Classics vowed to continue pushing the boundaries of cross-genre collaboration.
