An aerospace engineering professor of Seoul National University (SNU) will likely be named the inaugural chief of the Korea AeroSpace Administration, an official said Wednesday.

Yoon Young-bin, professor of the SNU Department of Aerospace Engineering, has been tapped to take the helm of the new agency set to launch on May 27, according to the presidential official. The nomination is set to be announced later in the day.

The position of deputy administrator will likely be filled by John Lee, a retired senior executive at the U.S. National Aeronautics and Space Administration. (Yonhap)
