For the first time this season, Kim Ha-seong of the San Diego Padres has pieced together multiple hits in back-to-back games.

Kim batted 2-for-4 with two RBIs and scored a run as the Padres defeated the Colorado Rockies 5-2 at Coors Field in Denver on Wednesday (local time).

Kim had also gone 2-for-4 in Tuesday's game and has now had consecutive multihit games for the first time in 2024. Kim had last done so on Aug. 29-30 last season.

Kim opened the scoring during the Padres' four-run first inning. With one out and bases loaded, Kim doubled on a soft line drive to shallow right field to cash in two runs.

Down 0-2 in the count against starter Ty Blach, Kim got just enough of a down-and-away changeup, and the ball landed in no-man's land, beyond the reach of first baseman Elehuris Montero. Kim later scored on a single by Eguy Rosario.

After flying out to right field in the third, Kim picked up his second hit of the game in the sixth inning. With Jurickson Profar at first, Kim put down a bunt looking to advance the runner. And Kim ended up beating the wild throw by third baseman Ryan McMahon for an infield single and reached second as the ball scooted into foul territory.

Kim grounded out to shortstop in the eighth, finishing with two hits in four trips to the plate. He's now batting .240 this year.

Elsewhere in the majors Tuesday, Lee Jung-hoo of the San Francisco Giants went 0-for-1 with a walk after coming off the bench for the first time this season.

Lee was held out of the starting lineup against the New York Mets at Oracle Park in San Francisco and entered the game in the top of the sixth as a defensive replacement in center field for Tyler Fitzgerald, who moved to second base to take over from Thairo Estrada. Lee took Estrada's spot in the lineup.

Lee flied out to center in the sixth and drew a walk from reliever Adam Ottavino in the eighth.

The Giants dropped the game 8-2, and Lee is batting .269 on the year. (Yonhap)
