Boy group ATEEZ is set to headline the Mawazine music festival in Rabat, Morocco, on June 23, becoming the first K-pop act to pull off the feat.

Launched in 2001, Mawazine is an international festival aimed at promoting Rabat as a city open to the world, which attracts some 2.5 million fans every year. To date, renowned performers including Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, Stevie Wonder and Bruno Mars have been invited as headliners for the event.

ATEEZ will perform on the main stage, OLM Souissi, according to the octet's management company, KQ Entertainment.

"The group will make its first appearance at Mawazine, but it will still take the main stage," the company said in a statement, Tuesday.

ATEEZ — consisting of Hongjoong, Seonghwa, Yunho, Yeosang, San, Mingi, Wooyoung and Jongho — debuted in 2018 with the EP "Treasure EP.1: All to Zero."

In April, ATEEZ became the first K-pop boy group to perform at Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, the largest music festival in North America. It generated a buzz for highlighting the beauty of traditional Korean culture with its performances.

The group is scheduled to roll out its 10th mini-album "Golden Hour : Part. 1" on May 31.
