The King Sejong Institute Foundation, in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, is hosting the 2024 Jiphyeonjeon Korean Language Class to celebrate Hangeul Week (Oct. 4 to 10). The program kicked off on Oct. 5, with two more sessions set for Oct. 19 and 26.

Since 2019, the foundation has organized Korean language classes at Gyeongbok Palace's Sujeongjeon, providing foreigners with an opportunity to learn about the principles behind the creation of Hangeul and study the Korean language.

Participants also get a chance to explore various parts of Gyeongbok Palace with the help of cultural guides.

The program is open to all foreigners residing in Korea, with around 20 participants per session. Those interested can apply online at https://forms.gle/y5UVT76Xw3b7Ymhb8.

Baek Jong-min, secretary-general of the institute, expressed his hope that through this program, many foreigners will gain a deeper understanding of the Korean language while creating cherished memories at Gyeongbok Palace. He also encouraged active participation, noting that the program is hands-on and easy to join.
