K-pop boy group AB6IX is coming back with a new mini-album, "BORN LIKE THIS," on Thursday, about nine months after it released its eighth EP, "THE FUTURE IS OURS : FOUND," in January.

The members — Lee Dae-hwi, Park Woo-jin, Kim Dong-hyun and Jeon Woong — expressed excitement for their new release in a written interview through the group's agency, Brand New Music.

"Since we're meeting our fans with this album after a long time, we tried to prepare it with great care and effort. We hope you enjoy listening to it," Lee said.

Jeon added, "I always feel nervous and tense with each comeback, but my excitement is even greater this time. I can't wait to perform on stage for ABNEW!"

ABNEW! is the group's official fan club.

The new album consists of five songs, the lead single "NVKED," "In My Vein," "Forever Young," "Hurt Me" and "Butterfly Effect." All members took part in writing the lyrics and composing the tracks for the album. The lead single, which Lee took part in writing the song and its lyrics, and producing, is a punk pop genre song that delivers a message to be one's honest self.

"As all members actively participated in making the album, this is an album that honestly and plainly unfolds our members' own stories and charms," Jeon said.

Kim also noted that this is an album that will "fully show the style and charms that AB6IX has."

The members shared that the lead single particularly portrays the group's musical color well.

"Lee wrote and composed 'NVKED.' And as the main producer of AB6IX, he created a song that suits the group best and fully captures the color that AB6IX expresses well," Jeon said. "The part I like is 'Let's get naked baby,' which I think is the identity that can best express this song."

Kim also shared his favorite phrase in the lyrics of the upbeat song.

"The lead single has an enjoyable, funky vibe. I like the part that says 'I'll decorate this night brilliantly.' I think these lyrics well capture our desire to brilliantly decorate all our stages and every moment we share with our ABNEWs," he said.

They gave a glimpse of the choreography for the new song. "The performance is very exciting, and above all, there are many key moves that can be enjoyed together with fans," Kim said.

Park added: "There are many basic and hip dance moves, so I think fans will like it a lot."

Lee noted that all members of the group plan to perform with handheld microphones for the first time with the song, saying "Please look forward to it."

Lastly, the group called for fans' support of the new album, expressing hope to make more good memories with them.

"Finally, our ninth EP has been released! We worked hard to prepare it, so please show us a lot of interest and love!! Let's make many happy memories and great experiences during the act for this album," Jeon said.

Kim added, "This is an album we prepared diligently, filled with our affection! Please show us a lot of love and interest, ABNEWs!!"
