Singers Rose and Bruno Mars will take the stage at the 2024 MAMA Awards, one of K-pop's largest year-end ceremonies, CJ ENM announced Thursday.

The organizer's announcement — made in a press release that the two artists are set to perform together at the Kyocera Dome in Osaka, Japan, on Friday — follows the global success of their collaborative October single "APT."

Released on Oct. 18, "APT." has become a worldwide phenomenon, peaking at No. 8 on the Billboard Hot 100. The song currently holds the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 and Billboard Global 200 charts for a fourth consecutive week.

Rose, a vocalist from K-pop icon BLACKPINK, cemented her status as a solo star this year, breaking records on Spotify and becoming the fastest K-pop woman soloist to surpass 100 million streams. Her debut studio album, "rosie," is set for release on Dec. 6.

Mars, a Grammy-winning American popstar, is also well-received among Korean listeners for hits like "Just the Way You Are," "Marry You" and "Uptown Funk." His sold-out Seoul concert last year drew more than 100,000 fans.

The 2024 MAMA Awards will kick off at noon Friday, Korea time, at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, followed by its first chapter in Japan at 4 p.m. The second chapter will begin with a red carpet event on Saturday at 1 p.m. and the main ceremony at 3 p.m. in Japan.

Meanwhile, K-pop's rising global influence has drawn more international stars to its award shows in recent years.

The 2024 Melon Music Awards, hosted by Kakao Entertainment's music platform Melon, will feature Danish singer Christopher and Japanese pop sensation YOASOBI. The event takes place on Nov. 30 at Inspire Arena in Incheon.

Christopher, who has collaborated with K-pop artist Chungha on two duets and with rapper Lee Young-ji on the track "Trouble," is a familiar name to Korean fans. YOASOBI, whose hit "Idol" served as the opening theme for the first season of the anime "Oshi no Ko," will perform ahead of its second concert in Korea this December at the same venue.
