The Sunfull Foundation, chaired by Min Byoung-chul, hosted the K-Respect campaign at the University of Perpetual Help in Manila, Philippines, on Nov. 27, to raise awareness of mutual understanding and respect to counter prejudice and discrimination against multicultural communities.

Antonio Tamayo, a member of the university's board of directors, said, "The University of Perpetual Help is honored to partner with the Sunfull Foundation in this campaign, which aligns with our mission to foster a culture of inclusion and respect. Through initiatives like K-Respect, we aim to inspire students and communities to embrace diversity and lead by example in creating a more harmonious society."

Congresswoman Marissa Magsino of One Filipinos Worldwide (OFW) party list also said, "The K-Respect campaign has made significant contributions for multicultural families and workers globally. As a co-chair of the K-Respect campaign and ambassador of Sunfull Foundation, it is a privilege for the OFW party list to support this initiative, which reinforces the principles of empathy, respect and cooperation both within the Philippines and beyond."

She introduced a bill in the Philippine House of Representatives to declare May 27 as K-Respect Day in the Philippines, highlighting the importance of promoting respect, empathy and unity among cultures while combating online hate speech and cyberbullying, a mission that is spearheaded by the Sunfull Foundation chairman.

"The K-Respect campaign is a global movement to replace prejudice and discrimination with respect. I deeply appreciate the support of the University of Perpetual Help System and its leadership, as well as the dedication of all participants, in advancing this vital mission," Min said.

"Many Filipinos live in Korea, and there are also many Koreans living in the Philippines. I am confident that this campaign will contribute to fostering a culture of understanding and respect among people from different cultural backgrounds in our multicultural society. And respect and consideration are core values of our foundation."

On Friday, he also met with Hans Leo Cacdac, secretary of the Philippine Department of Migrant Workers. They agreed to jointly promote the K-Respect campaign aimed at fostering mutual cultural understanding and respect, thereby reducing prejudice and discrimination against all multicultural and ethnic groups, including overseas Filipino workers and their families abroad.
