Industry Minister Ahn Duk-geun called on senior ministry officials Monday to ensure the "unwavering" implementation of state affairs to address economic uncertainties caused by the recent political turmoil.
Ahn made the call during a meeting with senior officials, amid growing concerns over the country's trade and industrial activities following President Yoon Suk Yeol's short-lived martial law declaration last week.
"As the economy faces significant challenges stemming from domestic political circumstances, we need to monitor the real economy and roll out prompt responses," Ahn said.
The ministry stressed that maintaining the country's external reputation remains a top priority, urging officials to proceed with trade negotiations and other global cooperation initiatives without delay.
Ahn also instructed officials to accelerate efforts to assist companies in addressing the challenging business environment.
The minister further emphasized the importance of ensuring a stable electricity supply during the winter season, along with thorough security inspections at key facilities. (Yonhap)
