The organizer of Hannover Messe, one of the world's largest trade fairs, held a press conference in Korea again for this year on Tuesday to introduce the main theme and exhibitors of the annual event in the German city of Hanover.

According to the organizer, this year's exhibition will take place from March 31 to April 4, under the theme of "Shaping the Future with Technology."

Basilios Triantafillos, the global director of Deutsche Messe, told reporters in Seoul that Hannover Messe 2025 will be a networking hot spot for both industry insiders and politicians, saying that top decision-makers will account for nearly 15 percent of the 130,000 visitors from 150 countries.

He also emphasized that the event will offer participants insights into how the industrial landscape will transform in the future.

Deutsche Messe anticipates that about 5,000 companies from the mechanical engineering, electrical and digital industries, as well as the energy sector, will showcase future solutions for energy production and supply at Hannover Messe 2025.

Among the exhibitors are around 90 Korean companies and institutions.

In particular, 10 Korean robotics firms will showcase their respective technologies at the Korea Pavilion sponsored by the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency.

"Due to the intensifying competition to improve productivity and the labor shortage in the aftermath of an aging population, the robotics industry has become more important," said Hwang Yoon-jae, project manager of the Korea Association of Robot Industry, regarding the introduction of the 10 companies' technologies.

Deutsche Messe said that participants of Hannover Messe 2025 also include various other global enterprises such as Bosch, Google, Microsoft, Schneider Electric and Siemens.

However, it remains uncertain whether Korean conglomerates will display their products this year.

In 2024, SK C&C, Hanwha Solutions and LS Electric were among the approximately 70 Korean companies participating in Hannover Messe.
