K-pop icon G-Dragon surprised fans with the announcement of his first concert in years during bandmate Taeyang's encore performance Saturday, marking his long-awaited return to the stage.
The BIGBANG rapper made an unannounced appearance at Taeyang's "2025 TOUR 'THE LIGHT YEAR' ENCORE" concert held at Inspire Arena on Incheon's Yeongjong Island, joining fellow bandmate Daesung.
The news of G-Dragon's concert came from Daesung, who was the first to take the stage, performing his solo track "WINGS." After his set, he paused to greet the audience and hint at upcoming plans.
"A lot of great things are happening this year," Daesung told the crowd. "Taeyang's concert is in February, and G-Dragon's concert is in March. So I might be holding my first solo concert in Korea soon, too. If you have the time and chance, I'd love for you to come and enjoy it."
His remarks marked the first official confirmation of G-Dragon's long-rumored concert plans. The rapper has not held a solo concert since his "Act III, M.O.T.T.E " world tour in 2017.
Later in the show, G-Dragon made his way to the stage and electrified the crowd with a performance of "POWER," his first release last year in seven years.
The night ended with all three members reuniting for "Home Sweet Home," a song G-Dragon released featuring Taeyang. The collaboration drew an explosive response from fans, many of whom have been hoping for the group to reunite.
BIGBANG, originally a five-member group, now continues as a trio following the departures of two members. While Taeyang has been performing solo shows since last year, he is set to embark on a global tour this year, bringing his music to international audiences.
