Samsung E&A, a Korean plant builder, said Monday it has clinched a 2.48 trillion-won ($1.69 billion) methanol plant project order from the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
The project, commissioned by the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company, also known as ADNOC, involves the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) of a plant capable of producing 5,000 tons of methanol per day in an industrial zone in Ruwais.
Under the agreement, Samsung E&A plans to complete construction within 44 months.
Samsung E&A said it plans to successfully carry out the project by leveraging its experience in a recent methanol plant project in Malaysia and its extensive experience from handling eight previous projects in the industrial zone in the UAE. (Yonhap)
