The chief state auditor on Thursday welcomed the Constitutional Court's "wise decision" in rejecting the National Assembly's impeachment motion against him.
Earlier in the day, the court rejected a motion impeaching Choe Jae-hae, chair of the Board of Audit and Inspection (BAI), over his alleged poor review of suspected irregularities surrounding the 2022 relocation of the presidential office and residence.
Speaking to reporters shortly after the decision, Choe said he will ensure the BAI "functions properly so that the public does not have any concerns" when he returns to his duties.
"We will operate the BAI with a focus on establishing discipline among public servants," Cho said, when asked about the agency's priorities.
Choe had been impeached by the opposition-controlled National Assembly in December. (Yonhap)
