K-pop boy group GOT7 will hold its first solo concert in six years, "NESTFEST," following its comeback with the new album "WINTER HEPTAGON."
Kakao Entertainment announced Wednesday that the group will host a two-day concert at the Olympic Handball Gymnasium in Songpa District, Seoul, on Feb. 1 and 2, unveiling a poster and teaser for the upcoming show. This will be GOT7's first full-group concert since its world tour “KEEP SPINNING” in 2019.
The seven-piece act — consisting of Mark, Jay B, Jackson, Jinyoung, Youngjae, BamBam and Yugyeom — surprised fans last month with the announcement of their reunion for a new release.
The new album “WINTER HEPTAGON,” slated to drop on Jan. 20, comes about three years since the release of the group's self-titled EP “GOT7.” It will have a total of nine tracks, including the title song “Python.”
“'NESTFEST' reflects the members' desire to create a festive stage for iGOT7 (GOT7's official fandom name),” Kakao Entertainment said in the release.
“Releasing the new mini-album on Jan. 20, GOT7 plans to showcase various stages with new songs and performances at the concert. Their comeback and concert marking their 11th anniversary are expected to provide deep emotion and thrilling excitement to global fans.”
The group debuted under JYP Entertainment in 2014 with the song “Girls Girls Girls” and released numerous hits, including "Just Right," "If You Do," "Never Ever," "Lullaby," "Hard Carry" and "You Are." The act built its musical identity by combining various genres, from hip-hop to R&B, with powerful performances, finding its unique musical color with all members participating in producing tracks.
The members parted ways when their exclusive contract with JYP ended in 2021. While pursuing solo careers from music to acting, they signed a deal with Warner Music Korea for group activities in 2022. The members have now collaborated with Kakao Entertainment for the production of the upcoming album.
“WINTER HEPTAGON” will hit the streaming sites at 6 p.m. on Monday.
